About George Cecala
A Voice for Common Sense
George M. Cecala has worked as a senior aide to members of Congress for over 16 years. He has served as a spokesperson to the U.S. House Small Business Committee and worked on legislative issues such as transportation, infrastructure, telecommunications, labor issues and foreign affairs. He was also part of a team that launched a yearlong successful effort to safely return four abducted children from overseas.
Prior to working on Capitol Hill, George was a consultant and Vice President of a local advertising and marketing firm. He also worked as an independent media and government affairs consultant advising campaigns and nonprofit groups.
George has lived and worked in the Washington, DC area for almost thirty years earning his bachelor’s degree from the Catholic University of America and his master’s degree from the George Washington University, where he also worked as an adjunct professor.
Having grown-up in a small business family, George gained an appreciation of the hard work that comes with the risk of starting a business and the obstacles that entrepreneurs and business owners face. George lives in Carroll Knolls with his wife Jennifer and their four-year-old daughter, Genevieve. They are parishioners of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Silver Spring.
